Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

The scheme was announced by the Chief Minister of Punjab. The main motive through the implementation of the scheme is to provide cashless treatment to all of the residents of Punjab state. The cashless treatment will be provided to the poor people of the state so that they can go to the hospital for their checkup and also undergo surgeries without any financial worries. Also, yearly incentives are provided under the scheme.

In Punjab, an announcement has been made related to the insurance for the frontline workers during the COVID-19 Crises. This includes sanitation staff, Safaikaramcharis, ward boys, doctors, specialists Asha workers, paramedics, technicians, nurses and other health care, workers. The compensation amount of Rs. 50 Lakh will be given to the beneficiary in case of an accident. This scheme came into effect after 30th April 2020 and applicable for the period of 90 days.

Achievements Of Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

  • Till now 46 lakh E-cards have been issued
  • Under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana 3.80 lakh patients are treated
  • The government of Punjab has spent rupees 453 crore rupees on the scheme
  • Under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana 767 hospitals are empanelled
  • Till now more than 6600 heart surgeries have taken place, 3900 joint replacement have taken place, 9000 cancer treatment has been done and 96000 dialyses have taken place
  • The treatment of covid-19 has also been covered under the scheme.
  • Under this scheme, health insurance cover up to Rs 5 lakh per beneficiary family is offered
  • The number of health packages has been increased from 1393 to 1579.

Incentives Under Sarbat Sehat Yojana

Incentives
will be provided to the poor families of Punjab state. Some of the finalized
benefits for these people are given below:-

  • A cashless health insurance cover of Rs 5 Lakh per family per year so, that they can overcome their burden of financial worries.
  • There are 1396 packages for Cashless secondary care & tertiary care treatment in public & empaneled private hospitals of Punjab & Chandigarh
  • There are 124 packages reserved for Government Hospitals
  • Treatment package of 3 days’ pre-hospitalization and 15 days’ post-hospitalization expenditure are available.
  • Big diseases are covered.

Many
types of beneficiaries are covered under the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana which is
launched by the Chief Minister of Punjab state. The different categories of
beneficiaries are mentioned below:-

  • NFSA Ration Card- 14.86 Lakh under SECC and 20.43 Lakh Smart Ration Card Holders
  • Construction Worker- 2.38 lakh construction workers under construction welfare board
  • Small Traders- 0.46 lakh families under the Excise & Taxation Department, Government of Punjab
  • J-Form Farmers- 4.94 lakh J-Form holder farmers under Punjab Mandi Board, Government of Punjab
  • Small and Marginal Farmers- 2.76 lakh Small and Marginal farmers under Punjab Mandi Board, Government of Punjab
  • Journalist- 4700 Accredited and Yellow cardholder Journalist under PUNMEDIA, Government of Punjab

Eligibility Criteria

The
common eligibility criteria to avail the benefit of the scheme is given below:-

  • The applicant must be a resident of Punjab state
  • The applicant must belong to the categories mentioned above.
  • Applicant must belong to below the poverty line category.
  • The applicant must hold a ration card.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana Registration Process

There
is no registration process for the beneficiaries. The selected list has been
prepared by the concerned authorities on the basis of the people who are below
the poverty line and some of the ration card holders and also as per the different
categories of the beneficiary which is mentioned above.

Procedure to Check Sehat Bima Yojana Beneficiary List

The website of the scheme provides a facility to check the eligibility of your application in the scheme. To check your eligibility, you have to follow the simple steps:-

  • On the web page, you will get two option to check your eligibility namely-
    • Search by Aadhaar No./ Smart Ration Card No./ PAN No./ Construction Worker ID No./ Journalist ID No.
  • Click on your desired option.
  • Enter the asked information
  • Click on show status

  • On the homepage you have to click on citizen’s corner
  • After that you have to click on Common Service Centre
  • Now a new page will open before you where you have to select your district
  • After that you have to click on search
  • CSC centre details will be on your computer screen.

  • Now you have to click on Check For Disabled AB-SSBY E-Card
  • Now a new page will open before you where you have to enter the required details

  • First of all, you have to go to the Official Website of State health agency, Punjab
  • The home page will open in front of you
  • On the home, page auto click on hospitals tab
  • Now you have to click on Empanelled Hospitals
  • After that, you have to select the category that is government or private, district and speciality
  • Now you have to click on search
  • Empanelled hospital list will be on your computer screen

Search De-Empanelled Hospitals

  • The home page will open in front of you
  • On the homepage, you have to click on the hospital tab
  • After that, you have to click on De-Empanelled Hospitals
  • As soon as you click on this link the list of De-empanelled hospitals will be on your computer screen.
